ABOUT - BIOGRAPHY

Ash Smith is a drummer, producer and music teacher based in Kent.

With a substantial and varied career so far, he has extensive live and studio experience having played at major UK venues and festivals (including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Boomtown), recorded in top London studios and had multiple tracks featured on BBC Radio 1.

He studied Commercial Music at Canterbury Christchurch University, and later achieved a Merit with a Masters degree in Popular Music from Goldsmiths, London.

He has been teaching drums since 2008, and has vast experience teaching all ages and abilities, teaching privately and in schools across Kent for over 10 years. His teaching experience is similarly varied as he has also worked as a classroom music teacher and tutor for adult education.

Ash prides himself on being a friendly, patient and supportive teacher, offering comprehensive, bespoke tuition to all his students. His students have achieved great success, either by passing Grade exams with flying colours, or going on to forge their own careers in music.

LESSONS

Lessons take place at Old Barn Music, a purpose-built, soundproofed studio next to my home in the Marden countryside. This is a large, converted barn that also functions as a rehearsal studio and recording space. It is a great location to learn drums and not worry about the noise!

Lessons can be
30, 45, or 60 minutes in length.

They are typically booked in
blocks of 5 or 10 lessons.
